A Historic Home
Take a step back into the 19th century by visiting the McHenry Mansion. Located in Modesto, California, this historic house, built in 1883, has been open to the public as a tourist destination since 1983. We offer family-friendly tours of the Mansion, which are free of charge. Donations are always greatly appreciated. Additionally, you can host all sorts of gatherings in this Victorian home. From weddings to recitals, it makes the perfect place for entertaining your guests.

Visitors Center & Gift Store
Come in and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of our Visitors Center and Gift Store. Our nonprofit organization purchased the building that houses these locations in 2010. When you visit our welcome center, you can sign our guestbook and view a short DVD presentation. This show gives a brief history of the mansion and its original owners. Restroom facilities are available in this area as well.
All of our historic home tours begin at our Visitors Center. Knowledgeable docents then accompany our guests through the Mansion sharing information about life in the late nineteenth century. After your tour, be sure to return to our gift shop. Our store sells unique items for all ages such as toys, books, and garden products. Special order services are available for our books!
